Here at LB Extensions, we pride ourselves on being Indianapolis and Zionsville’s reigning experts in achieving high-maintenance looks with low-maintenance effort. From hair to lash extensions, we've got your back when it comes to attaining the level of glam you desire without needing a full-time hair and makeup team.

Our newest service that we are so excited about is is lash extensions. While we've delved into this topic in a previous blog (a perfect read to those considering lash extensions) but for today, let's focus on the essential steps to maintaining those luscious lashes.

Eyelash extensions are a fantastic way to effortlessly elevate your style on a daily basis. However, much like caring for hair extensions, proper maintenance is key to extending the life of your lashes and reducing the need for frequent touch-ups and replacements.

The First 24 Hours After Your Appointment

Keep Your Lashes Dry: Avoid activities like swimming or intense sweating to prevent water from coming into contact with your new set. Also, steer clear of washing your hair during this period to minimize the risk of water reaching your lashes.

Hands Off Your Lashes: It may be tempting, but refrain from touching your lashes during this crucial time. Any disturbance could affect the adhesive as it sets.

No Eye Makeup: This includes mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. Give your lashes a break from any additional products during the initial 24 hours.

Avoid Oil-Based Cleansers: While keeping your face clean is important, opt for cleansers that are oil-free to prevent breaking down the eyelash adhesive.

Skip the Eye Cream: Many eye creams are thick and oil-based, which can interfere with lash adhesive. Hold off on using them for the first 24 hours while your lashes set.

Beyond 24 Hours

Wash Your Lashes: Make cleansing your lashes a regular part of your routine, ideally twice a day. Use a foaming cleanser specifically designed for lash extensions to remove excess oil and debris. Avoid oil-based cleansers at all costs.

Brush Your Lashes: Just as you would comb your hair, give your lashes some love with a spoolie brush. Gently comb through your extensions to keep them separated and looking fluffy.

Upgrade Your Pillowcase: Consider switching to a silk or satin pillowcase, especially if you're also a hair extension client of ours. Not only does this protect your lashes, but it also benefits your hair too.

Professional Touch-Ups: Don't neglect your regular touch-up appointments! Ensure you are making your appointment with Nikki every few weeks to maintain the fullness and freshness of your lashes. Trust us, it's an investment worth making!

By following these simple maintenance steps, you'll ensure that your lash extensions stay looking fabulous for weeks on end.

So, keep those lashes fluttery and fierce, and get ready to slay, darling! As always, we are here for all your extensions needs, be it hair or lashes, we can’t wait to see you in our chair!
